As 90% of regular season QMJHL games will be played on weekends or holidays, Tuesday will be the date for our weekly QMJHL power rankings!
This week sees Moncton atop the power rankings, thanks to a decisive 2-0-0 first week. Just behind them are fellow undefeated teams, the reigning QMJHL champion Drummondville Voltigeurs and, the winners of the Matvei Gridin sweepstakes, the Shawinigan Cataractes.
At the bottom of the list are the Val-d'Or Foreurs, who were our last ranked team on paper. Despite losing both of their games, they did pick up a point in overtime -- something the young squad can build off of.
Note: As this is the first week of QMJHL power rankings, the trend will come from where the teams were ranked on our QMJHL roster ranking.

Biggest Risers
- Halifax (▲4): Despite a number of stars graduating or being moved, Halifax starts out strong with two victories.
- Baie-Comeau (▲4): The Baie-Comeau Drakkar's two wins prove that they can still be a force without their top stars, who were away at NHL camps.
- Acadie-Bathurst (▲4): The Titan have carried the momentum from their first place finish in the pre-season into the regular season with two wins to start the year.
Biggest Fallers
- Rimouski (▼5): The Memorial Cup hosts took two major hits to start the year; the loss of starting goaltender Quentin Miller and a weak 0-2 start to the season.
- Saint John (▼4): Speaking of teams that stumbled out of the gate, Saint John was outscored 8-2 in their first two games as they start the season winless.
- Cape Breton (▼4): Cape Breton also met the same fate as the team's above.
