The draft will take place on June 6th and 7th at the Centre Vidéotron -- the home of the Remparts -- and will be the first opportunity for QMJHL teams to draft 2009-born players.

Last June, the draft was hosted in Moncton and -- thanks to a trade -- the Quebec Remparts had the responsibility of choosing first overall.

They went on to select centerman Maddox Dagenais who is already up to 15 points (7+8) over his first 13 QMJHL games.

Now just one year later, they will host the draft as teams search their next Dagenais.

The last time Quebec City hosted the QMJHL draft was in 2019, which saw the Saint John Sea Dogs select centerman Joshua Roy at the no. 1 slot. He's now considered a top prospect within the Montreal Canadiens organization.
