Blainville-Boisbriand have had their 6-2 win overturned due to not completing the requisite paperwork to register the player.
The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada have had a 6-2 win overturned, and are now being handed a forfeit loss for icing an ineligible player against the Victoriaville Tigres on Oct. 12.
The player in question is Mathieu Genereux, an affiliate player who was a third-round pick in this year's QMJHL draft.
Calling up affiliate players in immediate, short-term circumstances is a common occurrence in the QMJHL, however, requisite paperwork is needed to be eligible for any player to participate in a game.

While they lost this game 6-2, the result was overturned due to the Armada using an ineligble player. (Photo: Raphaël Lavoie)A press release handed out by the Tigres (translated from French) says the documents required for Genereux to participate in this game were not transmitted to the QMJHL before the start of the match, which makes the player ineligible for participation in the contest.
This falls under Article 10 of R-5 in the rulebook, which the league has determined causes the qualification of an ineligible player causes the forfeit loss, and victory given to the opposition on the night.
All individual statistics from the night will hold firm, but the Tigres simply take the two points from the Armada, and everyone moves forward.
