The Acadie-Bathurst Titan announced yesterday that they have signed centerman Tyler Wood.
Wood, 18, hadn't played a single game this season before signing with the team. Last season he played across two leagues.
He spent the majority of his season last year in the USHL as a member of the Lincoln Stars, scoring 3 points (1+2) across 29 games while putting up 74 penalty minutes.
He also played in 18 games with the NAHL's North Iowa Bulls where he scored one point (0+1).
The year prior, he played nine games with the BCHL's Cowichan Valley Capitals, scoring two points (0+2).
He was drafted in the sixth round of the QMJHL Draft by the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, but decided to go the college route instead and ended up committing to the University of Massachusetts
Wood has now gotten into his first QMJHL game with the Titan last night, going scoreless much like his team as they lost 3-0 to the Cape Breton Eagles.
He's the second NCAA bound athlete the Titan have been able to pull, after signing Maddex Marmulak of the BCHL earlier this month.
Marmulak is up to three points (1+2) over 10 games this season.
