After a 47-game, 9-point rookie season in Gatineau, the Olympiques placed 17-year-old defenseman Jacob de Ladurantaye on loan to the Cape Breton Eagles for pre-season as he no longer fit in the Olympiques plans.
It appears as though he turned some heads in Cape Breton as the six-foot blueliner has been given a permanent spot on the team thanks to a trade sending him to the island for a seventh round pick.
'JDL' was a former fifth round pick from the Olympiques in 2023, his hometown team.

He has yet to have secured any commitments to USports or the NCAA, and will need to prove he can handle a regular spot in the top six before he sniffs interest from down south.
