The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada have acquired 20 year-old goaltender Remi Delafontaine from the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, in exchange for a sixth round pick in 2026.

Delafontaine is coming off a 43 game season, split between the Shawinigan Cataractes and the Sags.

Starting the season in Shawinigan, he posted a respectable .893 save percentage across 25 games before getting dealt to the Sags -- the team that first drafted him 33rd overall in 2020 -- with a fifth round pick for fellow goaltender Mathys Fernandez.

With Chicoutimi, Delafontaine would ascend to a .910 save percentage over his final 18 games.

As the Armada have acquired Delafontaine and have just brought import goaltender Martin Haronik from Slovakia, one can imagine that Olivier Ciarlo is the odd one out.

Ciarlo, like Delafontaine, is an overager and is coming off a 46 game season posting a .902 save percentage between the Drakkar and the Armada.

Could we see a trade by the start of the season? Only time will tell.
