Today, the Cape Breton Eagles have announced that they have dealt overage right winger Noah Reinhart to the Val-d'Or Foreurs in exchange for two draft picks.

Reinhart, 20, had four points (1+3) across 11 games with the Eagles this season.

He was acquired this September by the team from the Drummondville Voltigeurs after a QMJHL championship winning, 60-point season (26+34) for a 2025 2nd and a 2027 3rd.

The Foreurs will be Reinhart's fourth team in three QMJHL seasons having debuted with the Saint John Sea Dogs before going on to play with the Volts and Eagles.

Across those three years, he's amassed 107 points (44+63) over 142 games.

The Eagles added him as their fourth 2004-born at the time as fellow overager Brayden Schmitt was recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident.

One can assume with the trade that Schmitt should be close to returning -- the last player involved in the accident to have yet to have debuted this season.

Schmitt has been an integral piece to the Eagles core the last few years, scoring 49 points (8+41) last season -- nifty totals for a defenseman.

The interesting aspect of Reinhart's move to Val-d'Or is that now they are at four overagers, one above the limit.

All three of the Foreurs overagers in William Bishop, Nathan Drapeau and Donovan Arsenault played last night.

So we could very well see a player get cut over the coming hours or days.
