Cape Breton Eagles defenseman Tomas Lavoie has officially signed his entry-level contract with the Utah Hockey Club.

Lavoie, 19, has 55 points (15+40) across 60 games with the Eagles this season.

In his impressive career so far, the former first overall pick in 2022 had amassed 95 points (20+75) across 184 games -- all with the Eagles. Despite the NHL contract signing, it's likely that Lavoie will play at least one more season in the QMJHL before turning pro.

Lavoie joined the Utah Hockey Club organization as a third round pick (89th overall) in the 2024 NHL draft.
