Just a couple months ago, it seemed as though Justin Larose would be among the first wave of QMJHL talents to leave the league earlier for the NCAA given his commitment to the University of Michigan.
Now, his college plans seemed to have been put on hold as Larose was dealt from the Voltigeurs to the Newfoundland Regiment in exchange for a first round pick and a third round pick.
Larose, 20, is coming off of a 61 point (26+35) season between the dysmal Victoriaville Tigres and the Drummondville Voltigeurs. Despite what might objectively have been good production, his season was a down year compared to his 80-point draft season in 2023-24.

If Larose can tap into the confidence from his draft season, Newfoundland may have landed what should be one of the league's most prolific scorer for next season.
