    The Val-d'Or Foreuers announced via their Instagram page that they have parted ways with overage defenseman Nathan Drapeau.

    Drapeau, 20, has three points (1+2) across 12 games with the Foreurs this season.

    His official release came after news of his signing in the BCHL with the West Kelowna Warriors broke yesterday.

    Drapeau was a former 15th overall pick in the 2020 QMJHL Draft by the Saint John Sea Dogs, the team he would play his first two seasons and win a Memorial Cup in 2021-22 with.

    After the cup win, the Sea Dogs would send Drapeau to Val-d'Or for a sixth and a tenth round pick

    In Val-d'Or he would play his best hockey, scoring a career high 28 points in the 2023-24 season while wearing the 'A'.

    Across his five year QMJHL career, Drapeau played in 240 games, while tallying 79 points (26+53).
