Recap: Sea Dogs Win High-Scoring Affair Over Voltigeurs

Sunday saw seven games cap off a busy QMJHL weekend, with some notable results across the league.

One of those was Saint John beating Drummondville in a goalfest to keep pace atop the Eastern conference.

This one got off the mark fast, with Alexis Joseph scoring his sixth of the year just 2:26 into the first. Drummondville would push from there, though, with William Dumont and Jayden Rousseau each scoring after the midway point in the frame to give the hosts the lead.

Then, blueliner Jesse Dunlop would find his first QMJHL goal with just over two to go in the frame to get the game level at 2-2 heading into the intermission.

In the second, the Voltigeurs got off to a fast start. Loic Brunet and Jacob Boucher would score just 24 seconds apart to give the home side a 4-2 lead, before Thomas Charbonneau cut that in half soon after.

Dumont would restore that two-goal lead later in the period, but from there it was all Sea Dogs. Jamie Glance would get them within one, before another late-period goal, this time from Alex Donovan, levelled the game at five apiece heading into the second intermission.

The third was a bit tighter checking, but it would be Donovan again to break the ice with his second of the night with about eight minutes to go. He'd then seal it with a hat trick into an empty net to put the game to bed at 7-5, Saint John.
