The Saint John Sea Dogs have signed their seventh overall selection from the 2024 CHL Import Draft, Florian Schenk, to QMJHL scholarship and development agreement.

Florian Schenk signing a deal with the Sea Dogs

Schenk split time last year in SC Bern's system, scoring 12 points (6+6) with their Under-17 squad, and 25 points (8+17) over 42 games with Bern Jr. in the Swiss U-20 league. The 6-foot-3 centerman will represent Switzerland at the Hlinka-Gretzky tournament as he will look towards putting his best foot forward in his first year of NHL draft eligibility. Schenk was the QMJHL's third selection in the Import Draft behind Calgary Flames first round prospect Matvei Gridin who went first in the Import draft and Quebec's Andreas Straka, who is still unconfirmed but listed on the Remparts pre-season roster.
