The QMJHL to college pipeline is only getting stronger, as Blainville-Boisbriand sees a star centerman officially secure a commitment.

The NCAA's University Nebraska-Omaha will be set to add centerman Vincent Desjardins at the end of his junior career, likely in 2026-27. This season, Desjardins has amassed 79 points (18+61) across 62 games so far, while boasting an elite defensive game. He has the second most points on the Armada, sitting only behind 2025 NHL draft eligible Justin Carbonneau.

Last year, Desjardins was one of THN QMJHL's prospects to watch for the 2024 NHL draft although ultimately went undrafted. The 5-foot-10 forward was able to get a rookie camp invite with the Edmonton Oilers, but returned to the Armada before the NHL pre-season started.

Considering his jump in production and that he's only a week older than the oldest first year eligibles, Desjardins has set himself up to return as a prospect to watch in the 2025 NHL draft.
