Ahead of the QMJHL's trading window opening, the Rimouski Océanic have announced that they have mutually parted ways with veteran left winger Lyam Jacques.

Jacques, 19, had four points (1+3) with the Memorial Cup host over 22 games this season.

Drafted in the fifth round of the 2021 QMJHL Draft, Jacques has been with the Océanic for parts of four seasons -- having amassed 42 points (21+21) over 143 games with the team.

The departure opens up a roster spot for the No. 3 squad, who will look to bolster their team to the best of their abilities as they'll aspire to bring home their second Memorial Cup.
