The Moncton Wildcats have acquired the import rights to left winger Juraj Pekarcik from the Acadie-Bathurst Titan for Gatineau's third round pick in 2026. He would waste no time, signing a deal with the Wildcats for the upcoming season.

Pekarcik, who will be 19 this season, was the second overall selection in last year's CHL Import Draft, but opted to play in the USHL with the Dubuque Fighting Saints over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

With Dubuque, he scored 59 points (9+50) in just 43 games and had 10 points (3+7) across 11 playoff games.

In his draft year, Pekarcik had three points (0+3) in 30 games in the Slovak Extraliga with HK Nitra, and 20 points (9+11) in 19 games with Nitra's Jr. squad in the Slovak U-20 league. His stellar production, matched with his strong hockey sense and projectible style ended up getting him selected 76th overall by the St. Louis Blues in 2023.

Pekarcik is yet another key acquisition the Wildcats have made this off-season, alongside Bruins blueline prospect and fellow import Loke Johansson. Preds prospect defender Dylan MacKinnon star QMJHL scoring forward Markus Vidicek.
