With the start of the pre-season about to start, what better time than to look at potential milestones that could be broken by former QMJHL stars during the 2024-25 season.

    Alexis Lafreniere

Alexis Lafreniere of the New York Rangers

The former first overall pick should hit several milestones next season.

Just two games into the season, Lafreniere will hit the 300 games plateau.

He could also hit 50 playoff games this season should the Rangers make it at least seven games into the playoffs.

As for points, he'll likely hit 200 career points if he hits at least 52 points.

Meanwhile it'll take 25 goals and 27 assists to hit the 100 mark in each stat.

    Brad Marchand

Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins

Brad Marchand will have two milestones to keep note of this season.

Should Marchand play in 71 games, he will reach the 1100 game threshold.

Another long-shot milestone for this season is 1000 points, which he is currently 71 points away from.

Marchand hasn't hit 71 points since 2021-22, where he hit 80 across 70 games.

What could potentially hamper these milestone projections, is whether the 37-year old will be the same as he's coming off of three surgeries this off-season.

    Charlie Coyle

Charlie Coyle of the Boston Bruins

Charlie Coyle can hit a couple major milestones this season.

Firstly, he should enter the 900 games, 33 games into his season.

Meanwhile, a stretch goal for the Boston Bruins centerman, would be reaching the 500 career point target. Coyle is exactly 50 points away, which is 10 less points than he was able to score last season.

    Claude Giroux

Claude Giroux of the Ottawa Senators

Claude Giroux will have three major milestones to look forward to.

18-games into his season, the 37-year old will reach the 1200 game mark.

Meanwhile, if he's able to pot 34 points this season -- which is just over half as many points as he had last season -- Giroux will reach 1100 career points.

Plus, if the Sens finally make the playoffs, he has the chance of hitting the 100 career playoff game mark, should he dress in at least five games.

    David Perron

David Perron as a member of the Detroit Red Wings

The newly acquired Ottawa Senator, David Perron, could realistically hit two milestones in his first season with his new team.

If he plays in at least 69 games this season, he'll reach the 1200 game mark.

Plus, if he's able to hit at least 32 points, he could also reach the 800 point threshold.

Not bad for a player who was passed over once in the NHL draft.

    Dmitry Kulikov

Dmitry Kulikov of the Florida Panthers

Dmitry Kulikov will likely become a member of the elusive 1000 games club, should the defender suit up for at least 52 games this season.

Also be on the lookout for him hitting 50 career goals if he scores four goals and 250 career points if he registers at least 16 this year.

    Jonathan Huberdeau

Jonathan Huberdeau of the Calgary Flames

Jonathan Huberdeau has the opportunity to hit several benchmarks this year,

The easiest will be 500 assists, for which he is just five assists shy of.

If he can stay healthy for 69 games or more this season, he will hit 900 career games played.

A stretch goal for the former 100-point scorer would be hitting the 800 point mark, which would require at least an 80-point season to accomplish.

    Kris Letang

Kris Letang of the Pittsburgh Penguins

Kris Letang has a few of milestones to look forward to this season.

Just 13 games in, he will hit the 1100 game mark and eight points into the season, he will hit 750 career points.

Should the Penguins' prolific blueliner pot 24 assists, he'll hit the 600 assist mark this season as well.

    Marc-Eduard Vlasic

Marc-Eduard Vlasic of the San Jose Sharks

Vlasic could hit two records this season.

The Sharks defender will hit 1300 games, just four games into his season. If he plays in 36 games or more, he will enter the top 60 in career games, surpassing former Sharks teammate Joe Pavelski.

Additionally, should Vlasic assist on six goals, he will reach the 300 career assist threshold. Vlasic only had six assists last season across 57 games, but if he stays healthy and he doesn't drop out of the lineup full time, it's an achievable goal for the Sharks-lifer.

    Nathan MacKinnon

Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche

Just eight games into the his season, MacKinnon will play in just his 800th career game.

Nathan MacKinnon will likely surpass 900 points, potentially in his first game as he's just one away from the threshold.

Having scored 140 points last year, it wouldn't be too shocking if MacKinnon was able to get to the triple digit point totals again and reach the 1000 point mark this year as well.

    Nikita Kucherov

Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning

Much like MacKinnon, Kucherov is in a position to hit both 900 and 1000 points this season. Albeit, he's further out from achieving that goal as he 'only' has 873 career points thus far.

If Kuch can remain healthy, and repeat or get close to his career best 144-point campaign last year, he'll have achieved both goals.

Speaking of whether or not he can remain healthy, if Kuch plays in 75 games this season, he'll also hit the 800 game mark.

Furthermore, should the Bolts reach the post-season and he suits up for just 3 of those games, he'll achieve 150 career playoff games.

    Sidney Crosby

Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins

Sidney Crosby should have a strong season of milestones.

For points, he'll likely surpass 1600 a handful of games into the season, given he's currently sitting at 1596. After that, he should have his eyes set on entering the 600 goal club with just eight more goals. Meanwhile, on the all-time leaderboard, Crosby will look to overtake Joe Sakic's 1641 points for 9th in All-Time points (1641).

Plus, Crosby will also likely play in his 1300th career game, which he currently sits 28 games shy of as of yet.
