Former Chicoutimi Saguenéens, and current Buffalo Sabres prospect Norwin Panocha has inked a deal with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL.
Panocha, 19, is coming off of a 52 game season with the Saguenéens last season where he notched 15 points (0+15) as a defenseman.
With fellow import defender Peteris Bulans putting up 42 points (4+38) over 59 games last season, the team opted to drop Panocha and pick another import in the 2024 draft.
They went on to select 16-year old Kazakh right winger Korney Korneyev, who already has four points (2+2) over 10 games so far.
Panocha would re-enter the Import Draft, getting selected in the first round by the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders. But after training camp, pre-season and a point-less three game stretch, the Raiders cut him in favour of new addition Vojtech Vochvest.
Panocha was the 205th pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
