    The Saint John Sea Dogs joined the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League as an expansion team for the 2005-06 season. With just 38 points in 70 games, they missed the QMJHL playoffs.

    In this story from The Hockey News Archive dated March 28, 2006, the focus was looking towards the future for the Sea Dogs. General manager Bob LeBlanc told The Hockey News, "The encouraging part is our better players are the young kids coming back, so we feel pretty good about that."
