Greg Wyshynski has released his latest trade board for ESPN, which takes a look at the NHL's top trade candidates. Among the players listed were four San Jose Sharks: Timothy Liljegren, John Klingberg, Alexander Wennberg, and Mario Ferraro.
Liljegren is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) who the Sharks certainly could trade if they are out of a playoff spot near the deadline. The 26-year-old blueliner could generate some interest from clubs looking for more depth on the right side of their blueline.
Klingberg is another Sharks pending UFA who could make sense as trade target for playoff clubs. The 33-year-old defenseman is showing this season that he can still produce offense from the point, as he has recorded four goals, six assists, and 10 points in 22 games.
Wennberg undoubtedly has the potential to generate interest, as he is a solid two-way in the middle of a solid year. In 31 games so far this season with the Sharks, he has recorded six goals, nine assists, and 15 points.
As for Ferraro, he is the biggest name out of this quartet. He should be a popular target, as he is an impactful top-four defenseman who is smart defensively and is not afraid to throw the body.
