Forward John Leonard has been recalled by the Detroit Red Wings from their AHL affiliate team, the Grand Rapids Griffins under emergency conditions.

Leonard has already recorded four points (2G, 2A) in nine games with the Red Wings this season.

The 27-year-old has also skated in 34 games with the Griffins this year, ranking first on the team in points (41). His 27 goals on the team are tied for second in the AHL and his shooting percentage of 23.3 is the highest in the league amongst players who have put up at least 110 shots on goal.
