In the battle of two of the highest-scoring teams in the WHL, it was the home side that struck first. Just past the midway mark of the first period, Kadon McCann tipped home a Bogdans Hodass point shot for his third of the season to make it 1-0. The Tigers were able to add to their lead six minutes later as Oasiz Wiesblatt ripped his fifth goal of the season past Daniel Hauser to make it a 2-0 game. Wenatchee would get one back before the end of the first as Evan Friesen was able to connect with a one-timer in front of the net for his fifth of the season, making the score 2-1 heading into the intermission.
In the second, Medicine Hat was able to put away the game, scoring twice in the middle frame. Andrew Basha made it 3-1, scoring his seventh of the season off a faceoff early in the second, while Hunter St. Martin's sixth with under a minute and a half left in the period sent the Tigers into the intermission with a 4-1 lead.
In the third, it was Medicine Hat's goaltender that took center stage. Zach Zahara stopped all 16 shots he faced in the period en route to a 34-save performance. He was also named the game's first star and improved his record on the season to 4-0. With the win, the Tigers moved to 13-5-2 on the season, while the Wild dropped to 11-8-1.
