Welcome to this week's edition of THN's WHL Game of the Week. In this segment, we break down the Game of the Week as mentioned on the latest episode of the latest episode of THN on the 'Dub. In this week's recap, we examine a low-scoring affair between the Portland Winterhawks and the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The first period was completely dominated by Portland as they outshot the Hurricanes 14-0. After constant pressure, the Winterhawks were finally rewarded, getting on the scoreboard with five minutes left in the frame thanks to Jack O'Brien's fifth of the season. The real star of the period, though, was Hurricanes goaltender Harrison Meneghin, who made 13 saves and kept Lethbridge in the game heading into the first intermission.

The second was a bit more balanced, as both teams would contribute to the scoresheet. Portland would extend their lead to 2-0 thanks to defenceman Marek Alscher, who jumped out of the box and beat Meneghin on a breakaway for his first of the season. The Hurricanes would answer back just a few minutes later as Kooper Gizowski banged home a rebound for his fifth of the season to make it a 2-1 game. Despite constant pressure from both sides, Meneghin and Jan Špunar continued to hold their ground as the teams entered the second intermission with the Winterhawks up 2-1.

For fans who love defensive hockey, this third period was right in their wheelhouse. The two teams combined for nine shots, with the only goal being a James Stefan empty netter with less than two minutes to play to make it 3-1. Overall, the battle between the WHL's two best goaltenders lived up to the hype as Špunar walked away victorious for his ninth win of the season.
