The 4 Nations Face-Off starts on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

After months of anticipation, the 4 Nations Face-Off is finally here. The new event created by the NHL will see the best players from Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the U.S. compete for a massive trophy. As expected, this tournament will feature plenty of CHL alumni, including 11 who played in the WHL.

The majority of the 11 will play for Team Canada. This includes former Kootenay ICE star Sam Reinhart, who scored the Stanley Cup-winning goal for the Florida Panthers last season. Below are the nine former WHLers who will play for Canada.

The remaining two will play for Team Finland. Portland Winterhawks' Henri Jokiharju and Tri-City Americans' Juuso Välimäki are projected to play key roles on Finland's blue line. The two had some fierce battles in the WHL, as both were part of U.S. Division teams from 2016-18.

The 4 Nations Face-Off gets started on Wednesday, February 12, as Team Canada takes on Team Sweden. The first half of the tournament will take place in Montréal at the historic Bell Centre before shifting to Boston and finishing up at TD Garden. Puck drop for Canada vs Sweden is set for 5:00 pm PT and can be viewed on TNT and Sportsnet.
