Welcome to this edition of THN's 2025 WHL Playoffs Daily Recap. This recurring article will be released throughout the playoffs, providing summaries of action from the WHL post-season. Although there were only two games on the ticket for Sunday, there's still plenty to talk about.
Calgary Hitmen 5, Saskatoon Blades 1
Calgary Leads Series 2-0
The Hitmen continued their dominance of Saskatoon on Sunday night, as two quick goals midway through the first period set the tone for the rest of the game. Calgary would put up four unanswered through two periods, and while the Blades got one on the board courtesy of Grayden Siepmann, it wasn't enough and Calgary skated away with a 5-1 victory heading into their road portion of the series,
3 Stars:
Calgary: Ethan Moore- 1 Goal, 1 Assist
Calgary: Anders Miller- 22 Saves
Calgary: Brandon Gorzynski- 1 Goal, 1 Assist
Spokane Chiefs 7, Vancouver Giants 5
Spokane Leads Series 2-0
This was easily the most nerve-wracking game of the playoffs so far, regardless of what team you support. Spokane got out to a massive lead, scoring six unanswered goals, but 1:02 into the third period, Vancouver kicked off a massive comeback- coming to within one goal. Unfortunately for the Giants, the home side came out on top as the Chiefs would add an empty netter to take a 7-5 decision and a 2-0 series lead.
