Being traded is never easy. Not only do players need to learn a new system on the ice, but they also must adjust to a brand-new city and lifestyle. While some struggle in a new uniform, these three players have not just adjusted but are thriving in their new surroundings.
Josh Davies
After being drafted by the Swift Current Broncos in 2019, Josh Davies was moved this offseason not just to a different conference but to a new country. That move seems to have paid off for the Portland Winterhawks and Davies, as he has already set a new career high in points with 41 despite only playing 28 games. Playing beside Gabe Klassen and James Stefan this season, the trio has become one of the best lines in the WHL and is a massive factor behind the Winterhawks' early-season success.
Tij Iginla
Tij Iginla's move from the Seattle Thunderbirds to the Kelowna Rockets seems to have awakened his scoring touch. After recording six goals and 18 points in 48 games last season, the 2024 NHL Draft prospect has already hit the 25-goal mark through his first 32 games. If he can keep this pace up, he could follow in his father's footsteps and become a first-round draft pick.
Teague Patton
Teague Patton has been a remarkable addition to the Everett Silvertips this season. After coming over from the Victoria Royals, the overager is just 11 points off matching his career-high with 32 games to go. A player who isn't afraid to shoot the puck, he should be a difference-maker for the Silvertips come playoff time.
