Team Canada has announced their roster for the upcoming 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship in Gothenburg, Sweden. Of the 22 players named, eight are from the WHL, with a total of five teams represented. Team Canada also includes Macklin Celebrini who both were drafted into the WHL but decided to pursue the NCAA route instead. Here is the official list:

G- Scott Ratzlaff, Seattle Thunderbirds

D- Denton Mateychuk, Moose Jaw Warriors

D- Tanner Molendyk, Saskatoon Blades

F- Nate Danielson, Brandon Wheat Kings

F- Conor Geekie, Wenatchee Wild

F- Fraser Minten, Saskatoon Blades

F- Matthew Savoie, Wenatchee Wild

F- Brayden Yager Moose Jaw Warriors

On top of the players, Team Canada will also include two members of their staff who have current ties to the WHL. Kamloops Blazers' general manager and head coach Shaun Clouston will serve as an assistant coach, while Lethbridge Hurricanes' general manager Peter Anholt will be part of the management team.

Team Canada will start their title defence against Finland on December 26th. This will not be an easy tournament for Canada as they are part of Group A, which includes Sweden, Finland, Germany and Latvia. Expect WHLers to fill massive roles on this year's team as Canada attempts to capture their fourth Gold Medal in the last five years.
