The Moose Jaw Warriors added to their stacked team, acquiring Buffalo Sabres prospect Matthew Savoie from the Wenatchee Wild. Savoie played his first NHL game earlier this season and has been ripping it up in the WHL with 24 points through his first 11 games of the season. In exchange, the Wild received the Warriors first-round selection in either the 2024 or 2025 WHL Draft, a  third and sixth-round selections in the 2024 WHL Draft, an eighth-round pick in the 2025 draft, a second-round pick in 2026, and both the Warriors' first and fourth-round selections in the 2027 WHL Draft.

With the move, the Warriors now have seven NHL-drafted prospects on their roster. Savoie is also the third drafted player that Moose Jaw has acquired via trade this year, with the others being Vojtech Port and Kalem Parker. The trade also reunited Savoie with Jagger Firkus, Brayden Yager and Denton Mateychuk, who all recently played for Team Canada at the 2024 World Junior Championship.

As for the Wild, they continue to build for the future, acquiring seven picks for Savoie. The picks give general manager Bliss Littler plenty of opportunities to rebuild Wenatchee and make them into a powerhouse for years to come. Whether that is through using the selections or trading them away for stars, it is safe to say the future is bright for the WHL's newest team.

Everyone knows. They just don't care. It's a great name even if there's always That Guy out there. Don't be That Guy.

or there is no Kraken in PNW lore. No Kings in Los Angeles. No Flames in Calgary. No Avalanches in the flatlands of Denver. Where are the Red Wings and Blackhawks located? There are Texas Rangers but no such thing as a NY Ranger. I have never seen a Penguin in Pittsburgh etc, etc.
