The 78th overall pick from the 2023 NHL Entry Draft signs his entry-level contract.

The LA King have signed Prince George Cougars winger Koehn Ziemmer to a three-year entry-level contract that carries an AAV of $875,000. Listed at 6'1", 203 pounds, he was a third-round draft pick in 2023 after recording 89 points in 68 games during the 2022-23 season. Born in Mayerthorpe, AB, he has started the season strong and sits fifth on the Cougars with 24 points in 16 games.
Ziemmer is an exciting prospect that brings a lot to the table. Not only can he use his size to his advantage, but he has one of the best shots in the WHL. He is also very good in the faceoff dot, having won 52.8% of the 163 draws he has taken. A deceptively fast player who can beat defenders to loose pucks below the goal line, he has been a major part of Prince George's dominant start to the season.
Now signed, the focus shifts to whether Ziemmer will be part of Team Canada at this year's World Juniors. He did attend the Summer meeting during the offseason and could provide some value for Team Canada in a bottom-six role. With selection camp nearing, his will be a name to watch as he looks to represent Team Canada on the World's stage for the first time in his WHL career.
