Valis played 147 games with Regina, scoring 44 goals and recording 106 points

The Regina Pats made their third move of the day as they traded 2004-born forward Borya Valis to the Prince George Cougars. In exchange, the Pats receive 2006-born defenceman Tyson Buczkowski, a third-round pick in 2026 and a fourth-round pick in 2024. Buczkowski is the fourth defenceman Regina has acquired today, after bringing in Sam Barcik, Dayton Deschamps and Ty Gibson in the previous two trades.

From the Pats side, they are getting a highly skilled defender who knows how to produce offensively. Last season, he recorded 22 points in 18 games with the Saskatoon Blazers U18 AAA while also competing for Canada at the U17's. Making the transition full-time to the WHL this year, he has played in 36 games for the Cougars, recording nine points during that time.

As for Valis, he should provide some depth scoring for Prince George. Through 35 games, he has 33 points and is on pace to surpass his career high of 48 he set last season. With Koehn Ziemmer out long term, he could be a valuable addition to not just the top six, but also the power play, as he does have 13 points with the man advantage so far this season. He is set to join the Cougars this week and could make his debut on January 3 against the Wenatchee Wild.
