The Swift Current Broncos made another significant addition, this time trading for Arizona Coyotes prospect Conor Geekie. In return, the Wild received 2006-born defenceman Josh Fluker, 2005-born defenceman Sam Ward, 2006-born forward Maddix McCagherty, a 2025 and 2026 first-rounder, a second-round pick in 2025 and a 2027 seventh-round pick. Geekie, who was part of Team Canada at the World Juniors, has 49 points in 26 games so far this season.

Adding Geekie means the Broncos now have six NHL-drafted players on their roster. With a record of 18-15-2-2, Swift Current sits sixth in the Eastern Conference. The hope is the addition of Geekie will propel them up the standings and potentially into a position where they will have home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

As for Wenatchee, they were able not just to get draft picks, but players who should make a difference for the next few seasons. All three of McCagherty, Fluker and Ward have potential and can help guide the younger players on a rebuilding Wild team. Overall, this was a great trade by general manager Bliss Littler, as he got a great return on a player who most likely won't be returning to the WHL next season.
