The 16-year-old capped off a huge weekend and wrote his name into the Oil Kings history books.

The Edmonton Oil Kings had themselves a massive pair of games over the weekend, perhaps none more than forward Joe Iginla. Sunday afternoon, the Lake Country, B.C. native scored his first career hat trick, making him the youngest player in team history to do so.

Adding on an assist in Friday's contest, Iginla was a key contributor in Edmonton's pair of wins over the Red Deer Rebels; the latter of which, an 8-2 decision inside Rogers Place. Iginla caught up with Oil Kings media after his career night:

The milestone also earned him the Canadian Hockey League's second star of the night.

Joe and the rest of the Oil Kings are back in action at home on Wednesday when they host the Calgary Hitmen for a New Year's Day matinee.
