If you are a fan of prospects, this throwback issue is a must-read. On January 10th, 1986, THN released their look at the top prospects for every NHL team. From Calgary Flames' Brett Hull to Boston Bruins' Bill Ranford, you can read all about the stars before they were stars.

The issue also contains an exclusive interview with Hockey Hall of Famer Denis Potvin. From the loss of his father to captaining one of the greatest dynasties in NHL history, the four-time Stanley Cup Champion details the highs and lows of his career as he closed in on retirement. This is not just a must-read for any Islander fans but any hockey fan who grew up watching during the 1980s.

Lastly, there is a can't-miss piece titled "Long and Short of WHL Draft Prospects. In this column, Ben Kuzma looks at some WHL players to watch ahead of the 1986 draft, including Pat Elynuik and Rob Brown. This piece is great because it not only offers a look at which prospects to keep an eye on but also analysis from their WHL general managers at the time.
