Levis was a seventh-round pick by the Winnipeg Jets in 2023.

The Vancouver Giants made a splash on trade deadline day, acquiring Winnipeg Jets draft pick Connor Levis from the Kamloops Blazers. In return, the Blazers received a second-rounder in 2024, a first-rounder in 2025 and a fourth-rounder in 2026. This was the third player Kamloops has traded away in the last three days as they look to rebuild after their Memorial Cup run last season.

For the Giants, they get a proven point producer that should help with their push to the postseason. In 195 games with Kamloops, Levis scored 62 goals and recorded 151 points. He also was one of the Blazers' top players in last year's Memorial Cup, finishing with four points in four games. After his success in the regular season and playoffs, he was selected by the Winnipeg Jets 210th overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. The hope for the Giants' perspective is that he will not only have an impact this season, but will return to the WHL in 2024-25 as one of the team's three overagers.

The 2024 WHL trade deadline is set for Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 2:00 PM PT. While there have already been some big moves, expect fireworks as teams try to bulk up for the playoffs. Keep your eyes peeled to THN's WHL page for all the latest trade news heading into the deadline.
