Abbey Murphy is officially heading back to the NCAA. The All-American will return to the University of Minnesota women's hockey program for her final season of eligibility.

"We are ecstatic that Murph has chosen to come back," said Brad Frost, Minnesota's head coach. "She is a staple within our Gopher program and women's hockey worldwide. Our team and college hockey will be better with her in it."

Murphy gained two seasons of eligibility through the COVID-19 year and also centralizing for the 2022 Olympics. Murphy scored a career high 65 points last season with the Gophers finishing fourth in the nation in points and second in goals with 33.

She was considered the top prospect for the 2025 PWHL Draft should she have declared.

"I'm beyond excited to announce I will be coming back for my final year of college hockey," Murphy said. "I am pumped for another go around with this team. It's been a great ride but we're not done yet. Go Gophers!"
