Boston Pride netminder Katie Burt has been hired as an assistant coach with Providence College's women's hockey team.

Kate Burt, a professional netminder who was signed to play next season with the PHF's Boston Pride, has been hired as an assistant coach with the Providence College Friars women's hockey team.
Last year Burt played 11 games with the PHF's Metropolitan Riveters posting a 2.78 GAA and .903 save percentage. The year prior she recorded a 1.41 GAA and .958 save percentage with the Boston Pride, helping the team to an Isobel Cup title. This offseason, Burt had re-signed with the Pride prior to the acquisition of the PHF.
"I'm truly blessed to have Katie joining the Friar family," said Providence head coach Matt Kelly. "She brings a wealth of knowledge to our program from her very decorated playing career. She's been a winner everywhere she's been. Her passion and love of the game are second to none."
Burt also spent two seasons with the PWHPA, and played a third season in Boston with the Pride in 2018-2019.
Prior to turning pro, Burt was the back to back Hockey East goalie of the year for Boston College, and won gold and silver medals backstopping Team USA at the U-18 World Championships.
