Colgate secured the ECAC regular season title and a first round conference tournament by when their women's hockey program shut out Brown to close out the season.

With a 6-0 win over Brown, Colgate University clinched first overall in the ECAC Hockey conference, securing the top seed heading into the conference tournament.

Elyssa Biederman tallied three points in the win, while Kaitlyn O’Donohoe, Kristýna Kaltounková, and Avery Pickering chipped in two apiece.

“Winning a regular season title is not easy, especially in this league where there are so many good teams you have to face every single night," said head coach Greg Fargo.

"For this group to be able to come together night in and night out and accomplish something that’s really hard to do is special."

Neena Brick opened the scoring with her 17th goal of the season taking a feed from Kaitlyn O’Donohoe before burying. O'Donohoe would later score one of her own.

Biederman scored twice including an impressive redirect off an Avery Pickering point shot miraculously. She also assisted on Kristýna Kaltounková's ECAC leading 25th goal of the season.

Rounding out the scoring was Sara Stewart, who scored her first of the year to end the campaign on a high note.

Kristýna Kaltounková had missed multiple games recently after being suspended for a pair of games by the ECAC, and later taking a brief leave from Colgate for undisclosed reasons. Kaltounková remains tied for third overall in NCAA scoring despite playing four fewer games than the other four players tied with 52 points this season.

Colgate earned a first-round bye in ECAC Hockey playoffs. They'll wait for the winner of next week's game between RPI and Brown for a game on March 1.
