A pair of former NCAA DIII women's hockey players, 25-year-old Meghan Moore and 23-year-old Sidney Capolino are being remembered this week after they were murdered in Coral Gables, Florida, part of Miami-Dade County Saturday morning.

The pair, who were roomates, were shot by 40-year-old Luis Napoles before he took his own life police say.

Both played college hockey for the New England College Pilgrams.

"Meghan and Sidney were known to many on campus, and we are deeply saddened by this devastating news. We are keeping Sidney and Meghan’s families and friends in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time," New England College President Dr. Wayne F. Lesperance, Jr. said in a statement released by the school.

Born in Lake George, New York, Capolino spent four seasons with the Pilgrims playing in 79 career NCAA games from 2018 to 2022.

Moore, from Barnstable, Massachusetts spent three seasons with the Pilgrims appearing in 62 games between 2017 and 2020.
