Bishop's forward Gabrielle Santerre was named the USports Outstanding Player of the Year, and Rookie of the Year, becoming the first rookie in history to do so.
Bishop's University forward Gabrielle Santerre made history becoming the first player in USports women's hockey history to be named both the USports Rookie of the Year and the Brodrick Trophy winner as the USports Outstanding Player of the Year. Named both a USports First Team All-Canadian and All-Rookie team member, Santerre also became the first player in RSEQ history to win the league's Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors.
Santerre, 20, led the nation in scoring this season with 45 points in 25 games.
The Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec product spent the past two seasons with Champlain-Lennoxville where she was named back-to-back CÉGEP Division 1 Player of the Year.
She's also the first player in Bishop's history to be named the USports women's hockey player of the year.
The other finalists for the award were Camryn Drever (Saskatchewan), Katie Chomiak (Nipissing), and Lillian George (UNB).
Finalists for the USports Rookie of the year were Abby Lunney (Nipissing), Ireland McCloskey (StFX), and Jaylyn Morris (UBC).
