Yale quickly fell off the undefeated list this weekend dropping their second game of the year to Quinnipiac leaving only five undefeated teams remaining in NCAA Division I women's hockey.

Wisconsin and Quinnipiac are the only two 8-0-0 teams in the nation. Wisconsin will likely grow on that number in upcoming weeks facing series against St. Thomas before facing nationally ranked St. Cloud State and Ohio State. Wisconsin has been powered by a high octane offence including NCAA leading scorer Britta Curl, Kirsten Simms, Lacey Eden, Laila Edwards, and Casey O'Brien. This weekend, Wisconsin was without world class defender Caroline Harvey who suffered an injury in their opening game against Bemidji State.

After beating highly ranked Yale this weekend, Quinnipiac has back-to-back games against ranked teams facing Clarkson and St. Lawrence coming up. Quinnipiac's key contributors this season have come from the net out. Goalie Logan Angers has only allowed nine goals in eight games this season while defenders Kendall Cooper and Maddy Samoskevich each have seven points this season.

The remaining undefeated teams this season at 5-0-0 Minnesota, 4-0-0 Cornell, and 7-0-1 Clarkson.
