Ohio State's Joy Dunne capped off a spectacular rookie season in the NCAA being named the national Rookie of the Year.

Ohio State first year player Joy Dunne has been named the NCAA's National Rookie of the Year.
Earlier this year Dunne was also named the WCHA Rookie of the Year after an impressive campaign with the Buckeyes where the 5-foot-11 forward recorded 22 points and 40 points in 37 games.
Dunne is a product of the St. Louis Lady Blues and St. Louis 'AAA' Blues programs splitting her time between boys' and girls' hockey.
Last season she captained Team USA's U-18 program scoring six points in five games at the IIHF U-18 World Championships. She also represented USA's Collegiate Select team this summer finishing fourth among all scorers from Canada and USA with three points in three games.
Dunne is set to represent Ohio State at the NCAA Frozen Four before immediately travelling to Lake Placid, NY for USA Hockey's final evaluation camp prior to the World Championships in Utica, NY. She's one of only two 2005 born players to be invited, and the only skater, alongside netminder Annelies Bergmann.
