Quinnipiac women's head coach Cassie Turner is set to serve as a guest coach with the NHL's Washington Capitals this week.

Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey head coach Cassie Turner is set to serve as a guest coach with the NHL's Washington Capitals this week at MedStar Capitals Iceplex.

“We are excited to continue our efforts in providing opportunities for female college coaches to work with our coaching staff during the season,” said Capitals president and general manager Brian MacLellan in a team press release. “Cassie is a talented coach, and we think her presence and experience will benefit our coaches, organization, and players.”

Turner is in her ninth season as head coach at Quinnipiac, with the Bobcats currently off to a 16-3 start.

Previously, Turner has coached with Hockey Canada including as head coach of Canada's U-18 national team. She is currently a member of the NHL Coaches’ Association’s Female Coaches Development Program.

This is the second time the Washington Capitals have welcomed a guest coach from the women's hockey ranks, with Laura Schuler joining the club in 2022.
