Boston University has a large, and talented, incoming group of rookies for the 2026-27 NCAA women's hockey season.

The Terriers could very well find themselves on an upward trajectory due to the arrival of this class, and it's perhaps the first true recuiting class where the impact of head coach Tara Watchorn, who is entering her fourth season as head coach with Boston University.

A smooth defender who played her way onto Canada's U-18 national team winning silver at the World Championships this year. Maetchel was a point per game defender with the Whitby Wolves in the OWHL this season. Maetchel, who has good size, isn't all about flash, but she gets better year after year, and you can see her game continuing to blossom.

Played for NAHA for several seasons heading into the NCAAA, and her offensive game grew each season. This year, Taylor exploded offensively registering 129 points in 76 games including 74 goals. Taylor can do it all, and drove offense at the 19-U level. The next job will be to replicate at a higher level. The JWHL Forward of the Year, and won gold in 2024 as a member of USA's U-18 national team.

Lachapelle has been on the radar as a prospect to watch for years, and Boston University has had some pretty good connections to Quebec come through the program in the past. Lachapelle spent the past three seasons at Northwood school playing JWHL hockey. She's produced consistently including scoring more than a point per game in two separate U-18 Canadian national championships. 

Captain of the Edmonton Jr. Oilers last season, Curran plays hard and is capable of adding another layer to Boston University's attack. Curran also represented Team Alberta at the national championships.
