The UConn women's hockey team has some of the top talent in the nation, including four former Canadian U-18 national team members
UConn has seven new recruits coming to their program this season, and they suffered some significant losses to the professional ranks, and in the transfer portal.
But there are veteran standouts including Claire Murdoch, Maya Serdachny, Julia Pellerin, Livvy Dewar, and others, who remain and can help guide this group of rookies, and the program to higher levels.
The excitement for the incoming cohort is palpable.
"We are excited to welcome the newest members to UConn," said head coach Chris MacKenzie. "They will add to an experienced group of returners as we look to continue our climb as a program."
2026-27 UConn Women's Hockey Recruiting Class
Caileigh Tiller, F, Canada
Caileigh Tiller is a two-time representative of Team Canada at the U-18 World Championships scoring 16 points in 11 career games for Canada. This season Tiller posted 34 goals and 66 points in 35 games for the Burlington Barracudas, and was the most penalized player in the OWHL with 112 penalty minutes, showcasing her physical side. Tiller is one of the best recruits in all of NCAA hockey. She'll also be joined by he twin sister.
Chelsea Tiller, D, Canada
Chelsea Tiller is an excellent distributor of the puck. From the blueline, including on the power play, Tiller finds soft spaces to put the puck, and can thread passes through lanes. Most of all, she makes smart decisions with the puck. This season with the Burlington Barracudas, Tiller recorded 47 points in 43 games, and she represented Canada at the U-18 World Championships winning silver.
Amelia Wilkinson, G, Canada
A standout in net with the Durham West Lightning, Wilkinson posted a 1.78 GAA and .930 save percentage in 26 games last season. Wilkinson won gold with Canada at the 2025 U-18 World Championships. With Tia Chan moving on, the door is open for Wilkinson to make an impact immediately.
Laurie Aubin, F, Canada
Aubin was a standout for Quebec as they won their first ever Canadian national title, and it helped her earn a place on Canada's national team in 2026 at the U-18 World Championships. Aubin notched 34 goals and 83 points in 46 games. She could be yet anoher instant contributor joining UConn.
