As first reported by TSN's Rick Westhead, Western University is allowing women's hockey head coach Candice Moxley to return to her role following an unrelated leave of absence and as a result of an internal investigation about alleged misconduct. Western's investigation found allegations to be unsubstantiated, a point players continue to rebut.

According to Westhead, the allegations facing Moxley included pressuring players to play through injuries, telling players she "didn’t care" their mental health.

As well, players allege that their reports to Moxley about being sexually harassed by Western strength and conditioning coach Jeff Watson went without action. Western University cleared Moxley during an investigation, but substantiated the allegations against Watson and relieved him of his duties with the school.
