Western University women's hockey coach Candice Moxley is allegedly facing allegations of misconduct according to reports.
As first reported by TSN's Rick Westhead, Western University head coach Candice Moxley is under investigation for multiple allegations of misconduct.
The allegations put forward by multiple players claim Moxley pressured players to play through injuries, and that she did not act when additional misconduct claims were brought to her attention by players related to team strength and conditioning coach Jeff Watson.
According to Westhead's report, Western would not confirm if an investigation was ongoing, however Moxley did tell Westhead that although a "review of the team environment is ongoing," at no time has she been suspended by the school or athletics department.
Moxley previously coached the Markham Thunder of the CWHL, and spent numerous seasons behind the bench with Buffalo State College, and working as a video coach for Team Canada.
According to Westhead, the alleged misconduct of strength and conditioning coach Jeff Watson involved inappropriate touching of players, and comments about their bodies and clothing.
Players, according to Westhead's sources made complaints to Western University's director of sports and recreation, Stephanie White, but those complaints went unanswered. White has since left Western to take on a job at the University of Windsor.
In relation to Moxley, Westhead reports that not only were athletes allegedly pressured to play while injured, that "Moxley repeatedly told players she “didn’t care” about their mental health, told her players they were all replaceable, and criticized players’ social media posts, telling players they wore clothing that was too revealing..."
Moxley is currently on a caregiving leave from the school.
It's not the first time in recent months allegations of misconduct have surfaced among university women's hockey coaches.
Now former Harvard University coach Katey Stone was recently accused "misconduct, including insensitivity to mental health issues, pressuring players to return from injuries, body shaming," racism and hazing."
More to come.
