The Women's Hockey Commissioners Association has named nine semi-finalists for the NCAA Goalie of Year Award. The initial 'Watch List' of 33 goaltenders has been significantly reduced.
For Minnesota-Duluth's Ève Gascon and Colgate's Hannah Murphy, this is the second straight season they've been named semi-finalists.
The finalists include Annelies Bergmann (Cornell), Tia Chan (UConn), Katie DeSa (Penn State), Kaley Doyle (Quinnipiac), Ève Gascon (Minnesota-Duluth), Lisa Jönsson, (Northeastern), Ava McNaughton (Wisconsin), Hannah Murphy (Colgate), and Emma-Sofie Nordström (St. Lawrence).
Jönsson, who was named the national rookie of the month recently, was the lone first year player named. She leads the nation with a .950 save percentage, is second with a 1.25 GAA and seven shutouts.
Three finalists will be announced during the conference championships and the winner will be announced during the NCAA Frozen Four.
