
Tia Chan has been named the 2025-26 recipient of the Women's College Hockey Goalie of the Year Award, annually given out by the Hockey Commissioners Association. The Hamilton, Ontario product is the first goaltender in UConn history to earn the award.
Chan was the NCAA leaders statistically en route to also being named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Year for the second straight season. The 5'6" goalie posted a 27-8-2 record this season with five shutouts. The UConn captain also posted a 1.54 GAA and .951 save percentage.
Chan helped Connecticut advance in the NCAA National Championship tournament
In the NCAA Tournament, Chan helped the Huskies to their first-ever national tournament victory by making 41 saves in a 4-1 win over Princeton.
She got them there with a historic effort against Northeastern in the Hockey East final where she broke the Hockey East championship record making 57 saves in a 2-1 double overtime victory. The performance was enough to see Chan earn tournament MVP honors.
Chan is expected to declare for the 2026 PWHL Draft.
She represented China at the 2022 Olympics and at two World Championships.
