
The Wisconsin Badgers and Ohio State Buckeyes women's hockey teams will face off on January 4, 2025 at Wrigley Field for "The Frozen Confines: Big Ten Hockey Series."

In one of the world's most historic sports stadiums, the University of Wisconsin and Ohio State University will play an outdoor game at Wrigley Field.
The game, dubbed "The Frozen Confines: Big Ten Hockey Series," will feature the reigning national champion Ohio State Buckeyes and the 2023 national champion Wisconsin Badgers along with Wisconsin's men's hockey team facing Michigan State on January 4, 2025.
The women's game will take place at 4:30pm.
According to the University of Wisconsin, the event will be the women's hockey program's second-ever outdoor game after defeating Bemidji State, 6-1, at the 2010 Camp Randall Hockey Classic in Madison.
Wrigley Field, which seats 41,639 for baseball, was opened in 1914 serving as the longtime home to MLB's Chicago Cubs.
The NHL held their 2009 Winter Classic at Wrigley Field featuring the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings, a game which the Red Wings won 6-4. The Blackhawks will return to Wrigley on New Years Eve 2024 for this season's Winter Classic against the St. Louis Blues. At the first Winter Classic at Wrigley, 40,818 were in attendance.
