Czechia's Adela Sapovalivova has been named the SDHL's rookie of the year. The 17-year-old scored 29 points in 32 games this season with MoDo.
Sapovalivova spent her first season in Sweden helping MoDo to the SDHL's championship series where they eventually fell to Lulea.
"I am very happy and proud of this award and it feels good for me to be able to share it with girl players in my own club and be part of giving them even better conditions," said Adéla Šapovalivová in a translated news release.
Along with the win came a prize of 50,000 kroner, roughly the equivalent of $5,000 USD, which Sapovalivova donated to girls hockey programs in Sweden.
Sapovalivova was named the Best Forward at the 2024 IIHF U-18 World Championships with Czechia, and she's won two bronze medals with Czechia's senior national team as well. Sapovalivova will spend another season with MoDo before moving to North America where she's committed to play for the University of Wisconsin.
