Alena Mills served as Czechia's captain for 14 years. Now, Aneta Tejralova is filling the void as Czechia's new leader.

For the last 14 years, Czechia's captain has been Alena Mills. When Mills announced her retirement from Czechia's national team following the World Championships this year, it left a void in the nation's leadership.
Mills had guided Czechia from Division 2 in 2011, to Division 1A, earning promotion to the top tier of the World Championships in 2016, to back-to-back bronze medals the past two seasons.
Now, with Mills' era over, Tejralova steps in to fill the void.
Tejralova, 27, made her debut with Czechia's senior national team in 2011 having played in ten World Championship tournaments for the nation.
Last season Tejralova played in the PHF with the Boston Pride, where she was signed to return this season prior to the PHF's acquisition.
Instead, Tejralova is now signed to play in the SDHL with MoDo, although her contract also includes an exit clause if she is signed or drafted by a team in the new professional women's hockey league. She had nine points in 24 games for Boston last season.
